Position
The Training and Development Coordinator is responsible for evaluating, developing, maintaining, and sometimes delivering the training for the staff of Trivium Life Services.  They will work closely with the Quality Director to determine training requirements for staff and develop delivery methods for the training; network with area colleges and consultants to determine the best process for providing training in house, electronically or with outside vendors; and provide guidance and assistance with development plans for staff.   This position will report directly to the Human Resources Director. 

Essential Duties
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential functions:

  • Oversee, evaluate, and recommend enhancements to the onboarding process.
  • Manage and maintain our electronic training program, Relias Learning, and monitor staff compliance with training requirements.
  • Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop training programs as needed and ensure appropriate testing and evaluation procedure are in place.
  • Conduct or arrange for ongoing professional development classes for employees.
  • Confer with leadership and conduct surveys to identify training needs
  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
  • Develop and organize training materials.
  • Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, webinars, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Train supervisors in techniques and skills for training and supporting their direct reports
  • Collaborate with the Fiscal department to develop training budget
  • Work a flexible work schedule to accommodate the Company's needs as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

  • Successfully meet the competency requirements established by the Competency Assessment Program of Trivium Life Services.
  • Valid Chauffeur's license and a driving record that is acceptable to Trivium Life Services auto insurance company.

Physical Demands

While performing the responsibilities of the Training and Development Coordinator's job, the employee is required to talk and hear.  The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.  The employee is often required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Vision abilities required by this job include close and distant vision.

Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.  Work may require weekend and/or evening hours.  The employee must be able to travel between locations, and occasionally attend seminars which may require an overnight stay.

Requirements/Qualifications
To perform the Training and Development Coordinator job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. 
The Training and Development Coordinator will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education or Liberal Arts; or a minimum of 2 years' experience in the training and/or development of staff.
  • Demonstrated ability/experience to create and present written and electronic instructional documentation.
