Accountant
Position
The
Accountant is responsible for supporting the Director of Accounting and/or CFO and
carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department. Will
also be responsible for relieving the Director of Accounting of certain
responsibilities that will allow the Director of Accounting to spend a greater
portion of his/her time on financial statement preparation and analysis, budget
and variance issues, and forecasting.
Essential Duties
This position includes, but is not limited to, the
following essential functions:

- Reconciliation of accounts and data entry into computer as
requested.
- Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet
reports, verifying information.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current
procedures, recommending changes.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and
interpreting data.
- Process monthly bank reconciliations for various accounts.
- Maintain and monitor monthly general ledger accounts analysis
and reconciliations.
- Assist Direct of Accounting with preparing monthly Income and
Balance sheet statements.
- Perform such other accounting, financial or administrative tasks
as may be required from time to time, quite often on short notice, by the Director
of Accounting or CFO.
- Train or guide others to assist in work
or projects; assist leadership in directing work
- Inform Director of Accounting of fiscal or other irregularities
or concerns.
- Maintain accurate files and supporting documents for accounting
entries.
- Assist Director of Accounting with yearly budget forecasts.
- Assist Director of Accounting monthly and annual closings.
- Assist Director of Accounting and CFO in preparing for the
annual audit.
- Process weekly payroll and process journal entries
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal
networks.
- Must attend and successfully complete all necessary employee training
functions.
- Must have authorized release before sensitive information is
given pertaining to Trivium Life Services, persons receiving services, and
staff. Protects Organization's integrity by keeping information confidential.
- Will be aware of and comply with all HIPAA regulations in
coordination with the HIPAA compliance officer.
- Must maintain financial data confidentiality.
- Will abide by all Trivium Life Services, Corporate Compliance
policies and Code of Ethics.
- The Accountant assumes other responsibilities as assigned by
CFO, Trivium Directors and/or CEO
- Must comply with all company and financial policies and
regulations.
To
perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each
essential responsibility satisfactorily.
Physical Demands
These
physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for
an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Accountant's
job. Reasonable

While performing the responsibilities of the Accountant job, the
employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit
and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a
keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms
and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision
abilities required by this job include close vision.
The employee
must be able to travel between locations, and occasionally attend seminars
which may require an overnight stay.
Working Conditions
Working
conditions are normal for an office environment. The noise level in the work
environment is usually quiet to moderate. Work requires occasional weekend and/or
evening work based upon the needs of the business.
Requirements/Qualifications
To
perform the Accountant job successfully, the individual must be able to perform
each essential responsibility satisfactorily, The Accountant will have the following experience and attributes:
- Prior experience working
within a values-based, professional services and/or management consulting
work culture preferred; knowledge of the non-profit industry is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of
Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel including Pivot tables and
v-lookups)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a
Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
- Minimum of two years' experience in
Accounting.
- Must be highly skilled in dealing with
Financial and Numeric data.
- Must have experience in general ledger
functions.
- Must be knowledgeable of accounting
regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP)
- Must have strong attention to detail and
good analytical skills.
- Be flexible as to scheduled hours.
- The ability to lead by example in a
professional manner, as well as the ability to work in a small team
environment.
- Possess above average verbal and written
communication skills.
- Possess above average problem solving,
decision making and organizational skills.
- Ability to push, pull, lift and/or
transfer up to 50 pounds.
- Committed to self-improvement.
